Supporting Families of Fallen, Wounded, Injured, or Seriously Ill Service Members

Application Details and Requirements

Applicants for our programs must be attending or planning to an accredited college or university or vocational/technical school as full-time students or full-time equivalent during the 2023-2024 academic year. All scholarships are for students seeking their first undergraduate degree or vocational/technical program certification and are awarded for no more than five school years. Applicants must provide documentation showing acceptance into their desired program of study.  Applicants will describe why they are pursuing this program of study, how it will enhance their civilian career.

Award

This award will provide a $2,500 scholarship paid directly to the college/university/vocational school/technical school and applied to the student’s account.

Eligibility Terms and Conditions
Timeline
  • The online application must be completed and submitted no later than 4PM EST on July 15, 2023.

  • We notify semifinalists in late June, and they must submit supporting documentation.

  • We notify finalists in July.

  • Disbursement of funds in August.

CAA Scholarship Program grant awards will be restricted to CAA spouses or children of Soldiers or Marines from the Civil Affairs Commands who were killed, wounded, injured, or ill supporting the Global War on Terrorism, irrespective of where the death, wounding, injury, or illness occurred. Note: Wounded, injured or ill soldiers or marines must have at least a 50% Veterans Administration accredited disability. Applicants must be under 24 years old if they are the eligible children of a service member. There is no age limit if the applicant is the eligible spouse/widow of a service member.

Applicants for our programs must be planning to attend an accredited post-secondary educational entity including two or four-year colleges or universities or vocational/technical schools as full-time or full-time equivalent students seeking their first undergraduate degree or vocational program certification.
