The 2017 Civil Affairs Roundtable on Tuesday, April 4th at the National Defense University in Washington, D.C. will do more than present the latest Civil Affairs Issue Papers on “Leveraging Civil Affairs.”
In order to help energize policies impacting the future of Civil Affairs, this year’s publication will also include a report from the 2016 Symposium workshop. The report is called Reaching for a New Narrative: Leveraging Core Civil Affairs Comparative Advantages for Full-Range Operations by Theater and Service Commands in the Joint, Interorganizational, and Multinational Environment. In addition to the Issue Papers, this Roundtable’s panel of institutional and policy leaders will review the key findings and recommendations of the report.
The Department of Defense approved conference event is hosted by the National Defense University Center for Complex Operations, in coordination with the Civil Affairs Association, U.S. Army Peacekeeping & Stability Operations Institute (PKSOI), International Peace & Security Institute, and the Foreign Area Officer Association.
For the convenience of many seeking professional development opportunities, the seven-hour event is taking place just prior to the PKSOI Peace & Stability Operations Training & Education Workshop, April 5th-7th at the Johns Hopkins University Montgomery County Campus in Rockville, MD.
